Established in 1966, the college has continuously evolved as a vibrant learning ecosystem supported by sound infrastructure and a dedicated faculty. In alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Navyug Science College emphasizes multidisciplinary learning, critical thinking, conceptual clarity, and outcome-based education to prepare students for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
The teaching–learning process at the college is learner-centric, inclusive, and flexible, making effective use of ICT-enabled tools, experiential learning, and innovative pedagogical practices. Alongside academic excellence, equal importance is given to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that foster creativity, leadership, teamwork, and artistic self-expression, ensuring the all-round development of students.
Navyug Science College takes pride in its strong culture of social responsibility through active engagement in N.S.S. and N.C.C. programmes, reaching out to rural and socio-economically disadvantaged communities. Complementing these initiatives, the college has a strong and vibrant Sports culture that promotes physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These initiatives instil values of empathy, service, discipline, and civic responsibility among learners, in true spirit of education for nation-building.
The institution has consistently demonstrated academic distinction through University merit positions, gold medals, and commendable performance in VNSGU examinations. In accordance with NEP 2020, the college actively promotes research orientation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, encouraging inquiry-based learning, innovation, and participation in research projects.
The college offers four-year B.Sc. Hons. programmes in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics along with a Post-Graduate Centre in Chemistry. Many faculty members serve as M.Phil. and Ph.D. supervisors, guiding scholars and contributing meaningfully to knowledge creation, particularly in the field of Chemistry. The institution strives to strengthen research culture, collaboration, and innovation-driven activities among both faculty and students.
As the In-charge Principal, I feel privileged to assume the responsibility of leading this esteemed institution at a significant phase of its journey. While firmly rooted in the strong academic foundation and values established over the decades, the college now looks ahead with renewed enthusiasm to embrace NEP-driven reforms, research excellence, innovation, and quality enhancement.
